Notice: As required by the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission the City of Alva is using the 2009 IRC code, effective July 15, 2009
Other Codes include: IBC 2009, IFGC 2009, IMC 2009, IFC 2009, IECC 2009, IPC 2009, & the NEC 2008.
The City Inspector's duties include:
- Issuing permits for construction, remodeling & demolition
- Inspection of building, electric, mechanical and plumbing
- Code Enforcement
- Zoning Administrator

Listed below are Permit applications for Building permits and an information form for licensed contractors to complete to help speed the permitting process. These forms do not in any way guarantee that a permit will be issued. You will need to obtain your permits from the Building Official (City Inspector) before any work has been started to avoid fines and/or other action from the City of Alva.
Electric, Plumbing, & Mechanical Contractors are required to be registered with the City of Alva before working in the City Limits, or before working on a home supplied by City water. Failure to register could result in a citation to the person, or persons doing work.
