Water Leak Repairs Last Update: Great news! Both leaks are now repaired and the crews are slowly turning the valves back on to send water to Alva. We anticipate it will take about 20 minutes to properly open the valves and then another 30 to 45 minutes for the water towers to begin to fill back up. Once they are at an acceptable level, the Water Department will be able to turn the booster pumps back on to give everyone the water pressure they are used to. When you see a Water Department worker next, please thank them for their hard work today and every day for the City of Alva. They were all waste deep in muddy water most of the day today -- and it wasn't the warmest day. Thank you again for you patience and understanding.
