During excavation for the US 281 Highway Construction project, multiple undocumented water lines have been discovered. These lines are no longer needed in the City of Alva water distribution system and must be cut and capped in order to construct the highway.
This will require multiple service interruptions, the first of which crews have scheduled for 10/14/25 beginning at approximately 8pm.
The impacted area will be at Murray Drive on US 281 including the Myers Addition, Share Drive, Murray Drive, and adjacent neighborhoods. This will cause low to no water pressure during the project which is anticipated to have a duration of 2-4 hours.
Other City of Alva water customers may experience low pressure during this portion of the project.
