
The City of Alva Transfer Site is currently not accepting any tree limbs or branches. We are in the process of getting rid of our old wood pile and need a little time to get everything straightened up so it will be more organized in the future. We will let everyone know when we will be accepting tree limbs and branches again.


The City of Alva Water Department will have the intersection of Barnes St and Seiling St blocked off to make repairs to a water line. We appreciate your patience with this inconvenience.


The Alva City Hall is currently experiencing an internet outage. There is no timeline for restoring service at this time. Please be patient with us as we work through this.


14th Street from Mill St to Fair St will be closed for water line repairs. We don't know how long this will be in effect, but we will make every effort to get the line repaired as quickly as possible.


The water leak near the airport has been repaired. Water pressure be coming back up soon.

You might experience low or no water pressure on Seiling St due to water lines being repaired. Please be patient as we work through this issue.


Water Department will be repairing a line on East Maple. You may experience low or no water during the repair in that area.

The water crew is going to temporarily shut off the water on the south side of town to complete the tie-in of the new water line. All of the towers in town are full and will provide plenty of water while they perform this operation. This is not anticipated to take very long at all.


If you have a water meter freeze up, please notify City Hall and we will have a crew come and thaw it so there isn't any damage to the meter or antennae cable. We will also put in some insulation to prevent it from freezing again. City Hall can be reached at 580-327-1340.


The indoor portion of the Cory Washburn Family Memorial Pool groundbreaking will be in the Alva High School Auditorium.

The City of Alva Water Department is currently working to replace a leaking water line valve near 14th street and Flynn St. Residents in this area may notice decreased water pressure temporarily

Construction bids are in hand; $5.9M for construction and rehabilitation, plus approximately $1.05M for optional amenities. Currently pledged and/or received grants, donations, and local funds total $5.0M and will allow for groundbreaking to be scheduled in January 2024. We are now seeking donations for the project which may be designated to either fund the optional amenities or reduce the taxpayer burden.

Due to the predicted weather forecast, Groundbreaking Ceremonies on 17 January have been moved indoors to the Alva High School Auditorium. The ceremony will conclude with a groundbreaking photo at the construction site.
